 Since Halloween is just weeks away I bet most of you are still searching for a costume or outfit to wear, well, guess what? Here is an AMAZING idea. Skulls, but not just any skull, sugar skulls. For those of you who know, the movie, The Book of Life, is coming out on October 16, and it is all about the "calaveras", which had been a big thing since 2 or 3 years ago, but it is back and this time more colorful than ever. Do not be afraid, get crafty, colorful and artsy. Forget about the masks or the shorty-short costumes, wear something impressive, cuz' believe me, this will get way more attention than any other costume.
For my look I chose as an inspiration the character 'La Muerte' from the movie The Book of Life, why? not just because she has that mysterious yet intriguing look, but because as ironic as it sounds, she is the one who brings back the life to those who are already dead, at least that is the way I see it(No, I have not seen the movie yet, I've just seen the trailer, but like a thousand times).

Urban Desert

A desert is a barren area of land where little precipitation occurs and consequently living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life. The lack of vegetation exposes the unprotected surface of the ground to the processes of denudation. On the other hand, urban can be defined as relating to, or characteristic of a city or town, but what about Urban desert? This kinda' is what summer on an island feels like, you get the dry sun, and the warm temperatures, yellow-ish nature and golden tones all merge in the city. The underground alleys and bridges become urban deserts reflecting everything the sun has to offer.

Bohemian Sunset

There is a popular saying that goes: "Better late then never", well, this is a perfect situation in which it can be applied. Months ago one of my best friends, Giannina, Charleen(from The Broke Girls) and I went to the first edition of Bohemian Sunset. For those who do not know what Bohemian Sunset is, I'll just say it is a collision of young talent. This activity emphasises in exposing young talents: musicians, painters, designers, magazine owners, and of course, fashion bloggers. Amazing right? YEAH!

When we got to Caguas Botanic Garden we couldn't be more amazed by the scenery; there were trees, and flowers and fountains, people giving free red velvet, vanilla, chocolate, lime cupcakes(craving one so badly right now). After a quick stop by the cupcake station we found ourselves in front of a beautiful lake surrounded by painters, musicians, FOOD, sangria, and a beautiful fashion show by the uprising designer Alejandro Antonio. It was all done perfectly clean. So dear reader, I encourage you to go the next edition of Bohemian Sunset, trust me, you will not be disappointed.

I must be honest and admit that my recent trip to Colombia exceeded all my expectations and thoughts I had before. When it comes to friendly people, colourful villages, modern skyscrapers, amazing temperatures and some not-so amazing, delicious food, endless landscapes and exquisite craftsmanship, Colombia is the answer. There was nothing that made me miss my island, do not mis-interpret me, I would never change Puerto Rico for anything, but the reality is that both cultures have many things in common, from the cultural to the culinary. so If by any chance you are doubting a trip to Colombia, don't, you'll thank me later.
